An evening of music with the City of Bradford Brass Band, who were crowned 1st section Champions of Yorkshire at the Yorkshire regional championships at St George’s Hall earlier this month, will take place in Ilkley tonight.

Organised by Ilkley Parish Council chairman Mike Gibbons, who is president of the City of Bradford Brass Band, the concert will take place at the King’s Hall and Winter Garden.

The concert, which forms part of the popular Concert on the Grove series, will be the band’s first time out as champions.

Award-winning musical director Lee Skipsy will conduct.

Mr Skipsy has worked tirelessly and dynamically to help the City of Bradford Brass Band become not only Yorkshire winners but a championship section band.

The concert features Halifax-born Emma Williams, a star of the West End stage, with a fabulous voice.

Twice nominated for Olivier awards, she was the youngest female lead in the West End when she starred in the musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Accomplished classical guitarist Michael Durrant will also play at the concert.

A bar will be open on the night.

Tickets for the concert cost £10 and £12 and are available from Ilkley Visitor Information Centre, call (01943) 602319.
