Thousands of pounds were raised for seriously ill children with a fashion evening in Leeds.
Styles For Smiles last week raised a total of £3,200 for the charity Bethany’s Smile, which helps children who suffer with chronic, life-threatening and terminal illnesses.
The event was organised by Horsforth schoolgirl Bethany Hare, 14, who has been fundraising since she was ten.
She was helped by Sherelle Davidson and Rhonda Richards from Leeds Fashion Show.
The fundraiser took the theme of a carnival and showcased clothing from a host of designers. It featured dancers, singers and models, including youngsters from Scalakids Performing Arts.
It was hosted by Capital FM presenter JoJo, who welcomed Bethany on stage to talk about her charity. Entertainment included songs from Bethany and a female group called The Ivy's – four young students studying at the Guildford Academy of Music. The event also included an auction of outfits donated by the designers.
The schoolgirl’s mum, Yvonne, said: “Over £3,200 was raised and everyone who attended had the most amazing time. Bethany cannot wait to organise the third Styles For Smiles again next year.
“Local salon Cutting Room Creative did the models’ hair and make-up was done by Pamela Clare who brought her team.”
