An Ilkley woman will Morris dance from the town to Silsden as part of this weekend’s Team Honk fundraiser.
Kirsty Smith is among bloggers and tweeters taking part in the 300-mile relay across the UK for Sport Relief.
She will wear the costume originally worn by her mother when she was a member of Oakworth Ladies’ Morris team.
Kirsty grew up in Oakworth, where parents Christine and Roger were instrumental in setting up the village’s Morris teams.
After attending Leeds University, Kirsty moved to London to work as a BBC producer, before returning north with partner Stuart Kanaqros and children Iris and Albert.
Kirsty, who now lives in Ilkley, writes an award-winning blog as Eeh Bah Mum and has won praise from users of popular internet sites Mumsnet and Netmums.
She is taking part in the relay along with 150 other bloggers, Tweeters and Facebookers, including Keighley’s Michelle Crowther.
Kirsty said: “I’m not sure how I’ll get over to Silsden from Ilkley in the costume. I’ve already ditched the clogs!”
Anyone wishing to sponsor Kirsty should visit teamhonk.org.
