John Gibbon, who is retiring from Sinclairs in Otley
John Gibbon, a sales representative for Sinclairs, a stationery manufacturer in Otley, retires this Friday after nearly 50 years with the company.
John joined the firm in October 1964 and began work costing and estimating. After a stint in the accounts department he joined the sales team and represented the company in Ireland, Scotland and northern England.
Company chairman Paul Howard said: “John was well respected by his customers in a constantly changing trade and his experience will be missed. I wish him well and hope that he has a long and happy retirement.”
John lives in Otley and counts flying planes as one of his hobbies.
A meal with his office colleagues was arranged last Thursday to mark his retirement.
