A revamped Otley pub will be officially reopened tonight, Thursday. The Yew Tree, on Newall Carr Road, has been given a complete, multi-thousand pound refurbishment over the past two weeks.
Landlord Barry Tomlinson said he is looking forward to showing the results of the work – paid for by Punch Taverns and the inn itself. The scheme has involved laying new carpets, fully refitting the toilets, changing the seating, adding a new fireplace and installing new bar fronts. Two of the Yew Tree's veteran customers, regulars Brian Bentley and Roger Blackburn, will cut a ribbon to declare the pub officially open at 8pm.
