Councillors in Horsforth have welcomed the decision to create a further 16 parking spaces on Broadgate Drive.
Councillor Brian Cleasby and Councillor Chris Townsley say they have campaigned long and hard for residents in the area who have complained about unsightly flagging and the destruction caused to their grass verges because of poor parking provision.
The decision by the Outer North West Area Committee to release £12,000 in funding to build the parking spaces was welcomed by both ward councillors.
Coun Townsley said: “This will be a very welcome victory for all of the local residents who have been left with nowhere to park for too long.”
Coun Cleasby added: “It has taken a considerable amount of time and effort by Chris and I working with Housing Officers to solve this problem for our residents. It will be a relief for all when it is completed.”
