Otley Rugby Club will host its second big one-day music festival this year.

The club has just announced that Sunday, May 25, will be the date of LS21 Live, 2014.

The 2013 inaugural event was a big hit when indie rockers Reverend and the Makers headlined and, supported by a variety of acts including local bands, delighted more than 2,000 fans.

Details about this year’s star names are still being finalised, but in the meantime the club has revealed it is holding a ‘battle of the bands’ competition to give two local groups a chance to perform.

The contest will be held over two nights, on March 8 and April 5, with four bands playing on each evening – and the best two earning a place on stage on May 25.

To find out more about entering send an e-mail to LS21livemusic@gmail.com.

The eight acts shortlisted to compete will be announced in mid-February at the LS21 Facebook page facebook.com/ ls21live.
