Pool-in-Wharfedale Post Office is preparing to welcome a temporary influx of customers from Otley.
As reported last week, Otley’s Nelson Street branch will close for two weeks in February to allow a major refurbishment to take place.
Councillors have been calling for a temporary, stand-in service to be offered in the town during the closure so that residents are not inconvenienced.
Pool PO postmistress Paula McNeil is concerned that her branch’s details were not included on the posters publicising the Otley office’s revamp.
She said: “My office has been nominated to serve customers from the Otley office during the period of closure.
“I would like to reassure readers that, probably being the closest and definitely the most accessible Post Office outside of Otley – the bus stops just a few metres from the door and we have a car park – we more than welcome customers, new and old.”
