Plans for this year’s Wharfedale Festival of Performing Arts are moving ahead, as organisers prepare to hold their annual general meeting.

The festival’s meeting will take place in the boardroom at Craiglands Hotel, Cowpasture Road, next Wednesday, January 29. All are welcome.

The date has been announced for the annual Denis Sharp Memorial Concert. The concert, featuring the Clifton and Lightcliffe Brass Band, Airedale Male Voice Choir, and last year’s Bursary winners, Freddie Butterfield, David Paynes and Caroline Taylor, will take place on Friday, April 4 in the ballroom at the Craiglands Hotel, starting 7.15pm.

The bursary gives young musicians and performers, chosen from competitors at the festival, the chance to attend prestigious summer schools to further their talent.

Tickets for the memorial concert cost £12 and will be available from the Visitor Information Centre from Monday.
