Author Pam Rae will talk about her book, Turtle at Mr Humbles, at the January meeting of Ilkley and District U3A.
She wrote the book, about a Bradford family, using material from the city’s archives.
The meeting will take place at the Clarke Foley Centre, Cunliffe Road, Ilkley, on Saturday, January 18, starting at 10am. The talk begins at 10.30am. There will be a charge of £1.
U3A is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full-time employment, providing educational, creative and leisure activities in a friendly environment.
Anyone interested in their local U3A and what it can offer to help people enjoy a range of enjoyable and fulfilling leisure activities as they reduce or cease work commitments can attend one of the regular monthly drop-in sessions.
These are on the first Friday of each month. The next session will be tomorrow, from 10.30am to noon, at the KIVCA offices on Riddings Road, Ilkley, Drop-in sessions are informal and give people an opportunity to meet some of their local committee members who can provide information on U3A activities.
