Festive frontages brightening up the shopping streets have won awards in an annual Ilkley Parish Council competition.

The Council has picked out the winners of its Christmas Shop Window competition, after receiving entries from more businesses this year.

Three winners are chosen in different categories.

Leaves and Lines, on Brook Street, won the independent retailer category for the second year running, Bettys Cafe Tea Rooms, The Grove, won the national chain or multiple category, while St Gemma’s Hospice charity shop, Brook Street, won the ‘not for profit’ section.

The Parish Council said it would still like to encourage more businesses to enter in future, particularly as many businesses made their shop windows appealing for the season but did not enter the competition.

The three winners will be awarded engraved trophies to keep for the year at the first council meeting of the new year on Monday, January 6.

Ilkley Parish Council thanked all the businesses that entered and took part.
