A meeting to push forward long-running plans to open up a cycling link along an old Wharfedale railway line will take place in the New Year.
Members of Otley Town Council and Pool-in-Wharfedale, Menston and Burley-in-Wharfedale Parish Councils met Sustrans and Bradford City Cycling officers in November to discuss the plan.
Sustainable transport charity Sustrans had carried out initial enquiries about creating a cycle and walking link from Otley to Menston, via the old railway line, four or five years ago.
Plans to widen the scope of the scheme will be discussed by the interested parties when they meet again in January.
The various councils are also aiming to consult with the public about the proposals later in the year.
