An Otley playground is in line for a revamp.
Leeds City Council is to use funding generated by a recent housing development on Leeds Road on refurbishing Wellcroft play area.
Ward Councillors Ryk Downes and Sandy Lay (both Lib Dem, Otley & Yeadon) welcomed the news. Coun Lay said: “The play area is beginning to look a little tired so this money will help to bring new facilities to this popular facility.”
Coun Downes added: “The three ward Councillors have had discussions with Leeds Parks and Countryside who have gone away to draw up a scheme.
“I know residents have asked about development and we hope everyone will let us know what they think. After all, we may be able to find some extra money to expand the proposal.”
