A MP helped spread a little festive cheer when he served Christmas dinner to a group of pensioners.
Stuart Andrew, MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough, helped out at the event organised by the Guiseley Senior Citizens Association last weekend.
The association, which was set up by Marian Ealham nearly 25 years ago, works all year round, with a dedicated team of volunteers, laying on activities such as coffee mornings, day trips and the annual Christmas celebration.
Mr Andrew said: “It was a pleasure to be able to support the Guiseley Senior Citizens Christmas dinner and serve those who all came to enjoy each other’s company as well as a delicious meal which was all made possible due to fundraising by Marian and her team.
“The association is a great asset to Guiseley and I have nothing but praise for all of the work and time that the volunteers give to elderly people within the community.”
Marian said: “I would like to thank everyone who came along and I hope that they all enjoyed it. I would especially like to thank Stuart Andrew, he has supported this event every year and he has been really good to us.”
