A memorial service to remember loved ones in the run up to Christmas is being held at Guiseley Baptist Church.

A spokesperson for the church said: “Christmas is a great time of celebration with family and friends. Yet it can also be a time of mixed emotions when someone whom we’ve shared Christmas with in the past is no longer with us.

“So, before the start of the seasonal ‘rush’, we are inviting families and friends to attend a special memorial service to remember those we have loved. It’s an opportunity for reflection but also an opportunity to give thanks; a meaningful way for families to express feelings for treasured family members and friends.”

The service will take place on Sunday, December 8, from 3pm to 3.45pm and will be followed by refreshments.

Anyone who wants the names of a loved one read out in the service can give their details on the day or by calling (01943) 884233.

The following Christmas services will be held at the church: Sunday, December 22 – 9.30am Christmas Nativity service; 11.15am Christmas service, with contributions from young people; 7pm Contemporary Carol Service followed by refreshments.
