The festive season has officially started in Yeadon with the switching on of the town’s Christmas lights.
Crowds flocked to the event at Yeadon Town Hall on Friday to join in carol singing and to hear a performance from Leeds City Council Breeze Has Talent finalist John Scholey.
Otley and Yeadon councillor Colin Campbell said: “I would like to thank all the residents of Yeadon who turned up to make it such a great evening. Special thanks to Ryk Downes for doing the introductions, the children of Rufford Park and Queensway Schools for helping with the singing, along with John Scholey, Charlotte Williams and Yeadon Carnival Queen Olivia Brear who actually switched on the lights.”
