Yorkshire’s multi-award-winning Ilkley Brewery has teamed up with Brasserie Blanc Leeds to host a beer and food pairing evening on Wednesday, November 13, at Raymond Blanc’s Leeds Brasserie.

The gastronomic celebration will feature a four-course meal, designed by head chef, Sachchidananda Samanta, with a paired Ilkley Brewery beer to go with each course.

Following a hop-inspired drinks reception, customers will begin their four-course food and beer adventure.

Each course, along with its paired beer, will be guided and tutored by Luke Raven from the brewery, who will explain why each beer complements its partner dish so well.

Brasserie Blanc founder and chef, Raymond Blanc, said: “I love the idea of matching our delicious food with the great beers from the Ilkley Brewery. It will be a great night with a fun atmosphere and well worth coming along. I am sorry I can’t be there to join in!”

Luke Raven from Ilkley Brewery added: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Brasserie Blanc for this food and beer pairing celebration. Sachchidananda has developed a phenomenal menu, with some of the dishes being cooked with our beer too, so we’re excited to have the opportunity to showcase a core selection of our beers alongside such a formidable feast.

“Matching food with beer, as opposed to wine, is becoming hugely popular and as brewers of award-winning craft beers, we are very keen to promote this notion.

“Gone are the days of pairing a pint with a packet of pork scratchings or a pickled egg; craft beers are now constantly evolving, becoming more refined and more suited to food matching than some of the world’s finest wines.

“The Brasserie Blanc evening is a must for diners looking to begin a new food journey, one which we hope will be the start of a new style of fine dining.”

Tickets for the Ilkley Brewery and Brasserie Blanc beer and food evening are £35 per person. Call (0113) 2206060.
