Housing fear for east of the Otley
8:53am Friday 25th October 2013 in News
A councillor has formally objected to a scheme that would see new housing on Otley’s eastern edge.
An outline plan to demolish sheds and create homes on fields off East Busk Lane has been submitted to Leeds City Council.
Although modest, with 26 properties envisaged, some believe the proposal could represent the first stage of a long-anticipated east of Otley development involving hundreds of buildings.
Objecting, Councillor Ryk Downes (Lib Dem, Otley & Yeadon) said: “There are brownfield sites in Otley that should be developed before greenfield sites. There is no reason given why this site should come ahead of brownfield sites.”
