Ilkley councillors to bid for development plan funding
7:00am Tuesday 22nd October 2013 in News
Ilkley councillors are to bid for up to £7,000 of funding and set aside a further £7,000 sum as a contingency measure as they look into the development of Neighbourhood Plan for the town.
Parish councillors Brian Mann and Andrew Walbank were this week appointed as project manager and deputy project manager for the development of a plan, which could give the town more say on building development in the area.
The town was granted Neighbourhood Area status by Bradford Council last year, paving the way for the community to develop its own Neighbourhood Plan.
But Coun Mann said: “I’d like to point out it’s by no means certain we will produce a Neighbourhood Plan. It all depends on the contents and acceptance of the Local Plan, which of course we hope is imminent.”
Experts in various fields may be co-opted to help the two project managers.
