A folk singer is staging a concert to help feed the hungry in Otley.
Gary Kaye, pictured, from Horsforth, is offering a helping hand to members of the Otley Foodbank group, who are in the process of setting up a scheme in the town.
He is raising money towards the foodbank by playing a concert at the Otley Labour Rooms on Sunday, October 13.
Gary, who has recently been described as the Woody Guthrie of the West Riding, is bringing an infectious blend of singalong folk classics and folk-influenced tales of modern life to Otley and he hopes that the gig will raise much-needed funds.
“I dearly wish I didn’t have to play fundraisers such as this,” he said. “But in times when more and more people are turning to foodbanks to feed themselves and their families, it is the least I can do to give my time and my songs to highlight the need for this vital resource.’ The doors open at 7.30pm and the show will finish at 10pm.
