An Otley-based baby, toddler and pre-school music group has been shortlisted as one of the best family-focused businesses in the Harrogate district as part of the Mumbler Awards.

The Rhythm Time classes, run by franchisee Lynne O’Malley, from Albion Street, Otley, is in the running to scoop the top prize in the Favourite Class or Activity category. The awards are part of Harrogate’s popular parenting site, The Harrogate Mumbler.

The classes, which run throughout the week at various venues, including Otley and Ilkley, have been created by a music teacher to enhance a child’s development. The fun, multi-sensory music sessions also aim to develop a child’s confidence, creativity and co-ordination.

Now Rhythm Time’s music classes will go through to the final vote, with winners to be announced at the awards gala dinner at The Old Swan in Harrogate on November 8.

“We’re so thrilled that parents have nominated us for these awards,” says Lynne, who has been teaching her Rhythm Time classes for more than seven years.

“Parents tell me our classes are the highlight of their child’s week, so it’s so exciting to be recognised in this way. I’d love for us to win the award and show that the children genuinely benefit from what we do.”
