WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: We were delighted to welcome Claire Spooner, the talented milliner, to our September meeting. She should have come to us in February but we were snowed off and had to cancel, so we were all looking forward to her talk. She gave us a potted history of millinery styles from Victorian times to the 1960s. Next month’s meeting, Four Corners, will feature four of our creative members who will demonstrate different crafts and we will all have the chance to have a go.
It is at Askwith Village Hall on Thursday, October 10, at 7.30pm and we always welcome visitors and new members from the local area. If you would like further details contact Sue Appleyard on (01943) 839292.
