Leeds-Bradford International Airport is bracing itself for a busy Bank Holiday weekend.
The Yeadon-based airport is anticipating a 12 per cent increase in passengers, with some 30,000 people expected to fly out for the final summer bank holiday of 2013.
Many will be heading for Turkey, Cyprus, Spain and Greece, while Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin and Dublin top the list of those taking short breaks.
The airport’s managing director, Tony Hallwood, said: “We are delighted to see that so many passengers are taking advantage of the long Bank Holiday weekend with an end-of-summer beach or city break.
“As Yorkshire’s Gateway airport, we also look forward to welcoming overseas visitor to experience the region’s culture, history and famous hospitality.”
