Work starts on 12 new homes in Menston
Work has started on a new development that will see a new social club as well as 12 new homes built on Farnley Road in Menston.
The site is being developed by Yorkshire-based firm CFK Developments and Castlehouse Construction has been appointed as the main contractor. Work is due to be completed in spring next year.
Menstone Club has occupied the site since 1920 and is being demolished and rebuilt as part of the development to create a new and modern centre with three snooker tables on the first floor and a community centre with a lounge and bar area downstairs.
Philip Cable, managing director of CFK Developments, said: “This new social club will offer brand new facilities in a modern building and it will be a fantastic asset for both Menston and its residents.
“We’re also due to start work on the first phase of two, three and four-bedroom houses that will all offer a superb specification and be known as Farnley Mews.
“When this is combined with Menston’s popular location between the city of Leeds and the Yorkshire Dales, as well as its proximity to good schools and rail links, Farnley Mews promises to be a very highly sought after development.”
Tim Davis, chairman of Menstone Club, added: “We’re delighted that work is about to start on the new club and excited at the prospects that the improved facilities will offer. “The club has been an integral part of Menston village for more than 90 years and adding a lounge and bar area to the new centre will widen its appeal amongst the local community even further and we will welcome the whole village to take advantage of these new community facilities.”
Farnley Mews will be marketed by estate agents Dacre, Son & Hartley.
