An 11-year-old schoolgirl has been chosen as this year's Otley Carnival Queen.
Katelyn May, a pupil at The Whartons Primary School, will take over from current queen Poppy Roberts when she is crowned on Saturday, June 15.
Joining her on carnival day will be Deputy Queen elect, Mia Hodgson, from St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, and attendants Angela Potter and Charlotte Michael, from St Joseph's, and Verity Burns from Westgate Primary.
Another St Joseph's pupil, Lottie Swales, has been chosen to be the crown bearer.
The queen and her attendants were chosen from a group of 27 girls aged between six and 11, at a meeting held in the Older People's Welfare Centre.
The girls were interviewed in groups, according to their age, by a panel of judges comprising Ann and Colin Whiers, from Harrogate, and Elizabeth Stewart, the manager of the Complete Care Agency, which sponsored the selection night.
