10:00am Wednesday 13th March 2013 in News
More than 900 pupils from across the Bradford district will be taking part in the annual Schools’ Prom.
It will be held over two nights on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 26 and 27, in the city’s St George’s Hall.
The event is organised annually by Bradford Council’s Music & Arts Service and this time will be hosted by TV presenter Jamie Rickers.
It will include scenes from Beauty and the Beast as well as a signing choir from Music and the Deaf.
Councillor Ralph Berry, executive member for children’s services, said: “The 12th Schools Prom is yet another opportunity for the district’s wealth of talent to be showcased. These events celebrate the creativity and hard work that happens every day in our schools.
“This is yet another occasion when Bradford will be rightly proud of its young people.”
Tony Johnson, head of the council’s Music & Arts Service, said: “We are very excited to have Jamie Rickers with us at this year’s prom.”
“On Wednesday, March 27, we will be performing the Vivendi Bradford Massed Ensemble piece, which was showcased at the Royal Albert Hall in London in November last year.”
