A little Tinseltown sparkle has been added to a Yeadon amateur production with costumes and wigs from a Hollywood company.
The flamboyant outfits were ordered by Yeadon Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society to feature in the musical La Cage Aux Folles.
The wigs and dresses were spotted by the show’s choreographer – and BA airways cabin crew member – Ted Oxley while he was working in LA.
Ted has had to juggle his complicated flight schedule with choreographing the show, which opens next week at Yeadon Town Hall, on Tuesday March 12.
But his job proved to be a real advantage when he spotted the wigs and dresses in Los Angeles. Wardrobe mistress Sandra Landells said: “The costumes and wigs for the cagelle dancers must be truly outrageous.
“Few costumiers provide wardrobes for this show so Ted's find was a godsend to us. We didn't waste any time in contacting the Hollywood company and they have been really supportive in helping us to create just the right look for the show.”
