METHODIST CHURCH: The soup lunch tomorrow from noon, to which everyone is welcome, will be in support of Christian Aid’s Souper Soup Lunch. On Saturday at 7.30pm Steeton Male Voice Choir will be giving a concert in the church hall, the proceeds from which will go to Water Aid, the church’s charity for the year. Tickets priced £7 can be obtained by ringing Peter Bastow on 430083 or on the door. At 10.30am on Sunday the service for Mothering Sunday will include holy communion and will be led by the Rev Rob Hilton.

BRIDGE CLUB: Results for Monday, March 4, with four tables. N/S 1 Brenda Beaman and Colin Graham 64 per cent, 2 Sandra North and Dorothy Wilkinson 52 per cent; E/W 1 Dave Fletcher and Melvin Blake 59 per cent, 2 Peter Hardy and Stella Read 58 per cent.
