Hautbois bring musical entertainment in a historical entertainment to Ilkley’s Manor House Museum and Art Gallery next Friday.

Rick and Helen Heavisides, this lively and talented duo, perform a Millennium of music – ranging from the Norman era to the 1940s.

With tango and ragtime all the rage, hobble skirts for women and the Women's Social and Political Union there's much happening in this second decade of the early 20th century.

Set against the backdrop of the death of Suffragette Emily Davison one hundred years ago this year, here is an absorbing account of the trials and tribulations of a generation thrown headlong into 20th century technology. The songs say it all.

Tickets (£10) are sold in advance. For ticket reservations and enquiries ring Liz Bowen (01943) 609393.
