Horse riders from Wharfedale are being asked to ‘Mount Up For Manorlands’ in a charity horse ride on May 26.

The event venue will once again be the Coniston Estate, near Skipton, and riders can choose between three routes all which take participants out on tracks, quiet lanes and bridleways up the Yorkshire Dales towards Malham.

Participants also have the option to tackle some of the fences used for the annual hunter trials which are held in the grounds.

Sue Ryder Regional Fundraiser Andrew Wood said: “The 2012 event saw more than 120 riders taking part, between them raising £5,000, The feedback we received was fantastic, so we are delighted that with the support of the Coniston Hotel, and of our event sponsor Whitakers Animal Feeds we are able to stage this event once again.”

All funds raised will go towards helping Sue Ryder continue to provide care and support to people living with incurable conditions.

Those who wish to take part but don’t have a horse can hire one for the day from Kilnsey Trekking Centre and should contact the centre prior to signing up on (01756) 753369.
