Otley treatment works is targeted three times
2:58pm Thursday 21st February 2013 in News
A Yorkshire Water treatment works at Knotford Nook, Pool Road, Otley, was targeted in three incidents over the last week.
The first happened between last Wednesday (February 13) and Friday (15 February) when an unknown person forced entry into the generator building by removing the padlock.
Police say the intruder cut and removed the generator cabling, and left with the property.
Then on Friday at about 5.45pm, after the site was closed, an unknown suspect used their body to force entry on the side wooden door, smashing it open and damaging the frame.
They made a search but no property was taken. The suspect then left unseen, but the alarm was activated, alerting the police.
On Sunday (February 17), between 6.10pm and 6.20pm, when the site was closed and secured, a brick was used to smash a window in the main building.
The intruder searched the control room, but did not take any property. The person left and police were alerted.
