ST PETER’S CHURCH: Finding a new rector to replace the Rev Andrew Tawn has required us to produce a Parish brochure. This describes St Peter’s parish and church, reviews our current activities and sets out our hopes for the future. It has required much consultation and discussion and a task that could have been a source of dissent and disharmony turned out to be joyful and creative. The brochure was completed to time and approved by the PCC last Sunday. It is an extremely attractive publication, with some stunning photographs, and you will soon be able to see it on the parish website. The vacancy will be advertised in mid-March with interviews in April. The first of the Lent groups met last night and another begins tomorrow from noon to 2pm, with a light lunch, in the church hall. The book Abiding by Ben Quash is being used. On Sunday is a Fairtrade breakfast in the Church Hall from 8.30am which will mark the beginning of the national Fairtrade Fortnight. A new venture, a Youth Emmaus Course, starts on Thursday, February 28.
