ST JOHN’S CHURCH: Wednesday, February 13, Ash Wednesday sees the beginning of the Lent season, for Christians the weeks before their greatest festival of all. Traditionally even non-believers make this a time when they try to improve themselves by giving something up, resisting temptations or taking on a testing challenge. So, Christian or not, can you challenge yourself and prove to yourself through succeeding that you are a better human being in at least one specific way? We’ll all be trying. See you at Easter! Visit stjohnmenston.org.uk to keep up with activities at St John’s. Services on Sunday are 8am holy communion, 9.15am Let’s Worship! with young families, 10.30am parish eucharist. On Ash Wednesday eucharist and imposition of ashes 9.30am and 7.30pm.
