WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: If you are feeling in need of a little exercise during these dark winter days, the next meeting of the institute may provide just the thing. On Thursday, February 14, Rachael Keighley will be running a gentle, fun fitness session called Zumba Gold. This month’s competition is for a fancy T-shirt. Why not join us at 2pm for an entertaining afternoon at Ben Rhydding Methodist Church Hall. Visitors, at a cost of £3, and prospective members are always welcome.
BRIDGE CLUB: Results for Monday, February 4, six tables. N/S 1 Brenda Beaman and Colin Graham 62 per cent, 2 Sandra North 52 per cent; E/W 1 Dave Fletcher and Judith Waterworth 72 per cent, 2 Brian and Shirley Lee 66 per cent. The club plays on Mondays at 9.30am at the Methodist Hall. For more details, call (01943) 466605.
METHODIST CHURCH: Soup lunches are served every Friday from noon. On Sunday the service at 10.30am, which will include holy communion, will be led by the Rev Peter Gray. Next Wednesday at 7pm there will be a service for Ash Wednesday when we hope to be joined by friends from St Johns Church. On Saturday, March 9, the popular Steeton Male Voice Choir will be giving a concert in the church. The proceeds will go to Water Aid, the church’s charity for the year, and tickets priced £7 can be acquired by ringing Peter Bastow on 430083.
