Sister Trish Thompson, a Macmillan nurse who cares for children diagnosed with cancer, was the speaker at a meeting of Macmillan Cancer Support, Ilkley. She works closely with the children’s oncology department at Leeds General Infirmary and gave an insight into the kind of work which she and her team do to make life more bearable for these children and their families. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 20 when the speaker will be David Lee with ‘Reminiscences of a TV Watchdog’.
