Hard drugs are seized in Horsforth raids
2:14pm Thursday 3rd January 2013 in News
Hard drugs and stolen property were seized in a series of police raids across Horsforth.
Neighbourhood policing officers found a “large quantity” of suspected Class A and Class B drugs at one of the addresses they searched as part of a clampdown on drugs and related crime in the town.
Police are stressing the importance of tip-offs from the public and are encouraging people to continue to pass on any suspicions they have.
Officers from the Aireborough and Wharfedale Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a warrant at an address in Hawkswood Crescent, Hawksworth. They say a man was given a fine after cannabis was found.
Police also executed a warrant under the Theft Act at a property in Regent Crescent, Horsforth, as part of an investigation into recent burglaries at sheds and garages.
They say suspected stolen property was recovered during the search and a man has been charged and bailed to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court.
Officers also executed a drugs warrant in New Road Side, Horsforth, and recovered suspected Class A and Class B drugs along with suspected stolen goods.
A 47-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply. She was later bailed.
