 |
| Jack Eastbourne's entry in the painting competition |
This year's Yeadon carnival promises to be the biggest staged so far at the Tarn Playing Fields.
Organisers say the event, on Saturday will have something for everyone - from a funk band to a brass band, from majorettes to vintage cars.
The carnival, which takes places from noon to 4.30pm, will also include entertainment from the Knaresborough Accordion and Fiddle Society band, the Hall Royd Band, and the very popular Bernise Mountain dogs.
Youngsters will be well catered for, with a children's party fire engine and a story teller, as well as balloons, face painters and all the fun of the fair.
A parade will go down the High Street at 1pm and then return to the show field at the Tarn playing fields.
A painting competition is being held in the local schools, and the winning painting will be on display in Yeadon Library.
A window dressing competition has also been launched and many businesses have take part.
Chairman Coun Nigel Francis is urging other shops in the High Street to join in and take part in the competition.
