Otley youngsters offered creative activities at half-term

CREATIVE activities for schoolchildren involving clay, felt and collages will be held at Otley Courthouse during the May half-term holidays.

The fun begins on Tuesday, May 27, when workshop leader Sandra Flitcroft will show children from 10.30am to 12.30pm how to make unusual collages from pictures of fruit and vegetables.

On Wednesday, May 28, Kate Bowles will demonstrate how to make a variety of things with clay (old clothes necessary) between 1.30pm and 3.30pm.

That will be followed with a stitch a mobile phone / mp3 player holder' class, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm oin Thursday, May 29.

Finally on Friday, May 30, the week will be rounded off with Felt Making Fun, when participants will try their hand at making their own felt, using just soap, wool and water, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

All of the classes are open to children aged five to 12. Workshop places, which cost £4 per child per session, should be booked in advance by calling (01943) 467466, sending an -mail to otleycourthouse@tiscali.co.uk, or visiting Otley Courthouse, on Courthouse Street, between 10am and 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

Children aged between five and seven need to have an adult with them throughout the workshops, eight to 12 year olds can attend unaccompanied.
