Angelina Jolie has been made an honorary citizen of Sarajevo
Angelina Jolie has been made an honorary citizen of Bosnia's capital, Sarajevo.
The Hollywood star was given the honour as a result of her movie In The Land Of Blood And Honey, a love story set against the backdrop of the Bosnian war.
A statement issued by the city's authorities said it made the decision in recognition of the star's role in preserving the "truth about the war" in Bosnia through the film, which marked her directorial debut.
The spokeswoman for the Sarajevo Canton, Lamija Bojadzic, said it was not yet clear whether Angelina would attend a ceremony in Sarajevo on May 3.
