1:09pm Friday 1st June 2012 in Entertainment
Tribute bands will bring the music of the Killers, Foo Fighters and Kings of Leon to the banks of the Wharfe in Otley on Saturday. Lookalike and soundalike bands will give local music lovers a chance to hear the hits of big name performers played live at this year’s Otley Fake Festival.
The festival takes place in Wharfemeadows Park, doors opening at 12.30pm, with the music is set to go on until 11pm.
Heading the line-up this year is Killers tribute the Fillers, complete with Brandon Flowers lookalike singer Trevor Hurley.
Iain Angus and his band the Four Fighters will rock the audience with the sounds of the Foo Fighters. The festival has also secured sought-after Kings of Leon tribute band, East Yorkshire’s Kings of Lyon.
They will be joined by five local bands, including Otley’s own Roadkill and Simple Abhoration, Sound Engine, Wonder Stuff tribute the Wonder Bluff, and Bradford’s Old School Enemy.
The festival also boasts a beer tent, food stands, and entertainment zone complete with sideshows, children’s games, inflatables and other attractions.
Tickets are on sale now at several local outlets and online at fakefestivals.co.uk.
Children aged up to 10 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Adult (over 18) tickets bought on the door are £22 and young persons’ (10-17) tickets bought on the door are £15.
