A top musical star has sent best wishes to an amateur operatic group which is putting the finishing touches to its next performance Next month, Yeadon Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society will be staging the hit musical Sweet Charity, which had a major West End revival in 1998 with Bonnie Langford.

She heard about the show’s Wharfedale revival and sent the cast a message.

It said: “Wishing you all a groovy time in Sweet Charity. It’s such a joyous and crazy show . . . Give it your best ‘brass band’, ‘go out and get it’ and you’ll feel the ‘rhythm of life’ all evening! Enjoy every moment… Love and Luck, Bonnie Langford.”

Sweet Charity runs at Yeadon Town Hall from Tuesday, March 13, to Saturday March 17, at 7.15 pm. Tickets cost from £10 and can be reserved by ringing the booking hotline on 0757 061 0989.
