TIDDLER and Other Terrific Tales will entertain young children at King’s Hall in Ilkley on Tuesday May 22.

The show, which features four stories, has been adapted from the bestselling books by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

Families should prepare to go under the sea, out on the farm and into the jungle, as the tales are bought to life on stage with live music, puppetry and a whole host of colourful characters.

The show features annotations of Tiddler, Monkey Puzzle, The Smartest Giant in Town and A Squash and a Squeeze.

Funky moves, toe-tapping tunes and giggles are guaranteed, in a presentation based on the writings of the creator of modern classic The Gruffalo, which has sold over 13 million copies worldwide.

Julia is best known for her popular rhyming stories for children, especially those illustrated by Axel Scheffler, which include Zog, Stick Man and Room on the Broom.

The Guardian newspaper said: “To call this show lively would be a whopping understatement. Packed with gleeful songs and jolly good fun.”

Tiddler and Other Terrific Tales is directed by Sally Cookson, with music and lyrics by Benji Bower. The cast features Maryam Grace, Anna Larkin and Alex Tosh.

Tiddler & Other Terrific Tales is produced by the newly-founded Freckle Productions, whose shows aim to be vigorous and challenging.

Freckle hopes to engage both hearts and minds to fire the imaginations of young audiences who may be experiencing theatre for the very first time.
