IF you’ve ever been thrilled by the Hallelujah Chorus and wondered what it would be like to take part, Bradford Festival Choral Society are giving you the chance.

On Saturday May 12th, the choir – Bradford’s largest – is running a Come and Sing workshop on Handel’s Messiah in the historic church of All Saints’, Little Horton. Registration for the event begins at 1.30pm, with workshops from 2-5pm and an informal performance at 6pm. Advance tickets are £12, £15 on the day and music is provided. The performance is free for audience members.

Musical Director Thomas Leech is passionate about bringing high quality choral music to the city, working with both BFCS and the internationally-acclaimed Bradford Catholic Youth Choir. His workshop rehearsals combine musical and vocal knowledge with a commitment to making choral singing an inspiring experience.

As an added attraction there will be hot food provided between the workshop and the performance. There will be plenty of time to chat to friendly choir members and find out more about what it’s like to sing in the choir. All Saints’ Church is a beautiful building located in the surprising urban village of Little Horton just a short walk from Bradford’s bustling city centre.

Musical Director, Thomas Leech said: "I believe everyone should have the opportunity to sing great music – and taking part in the extraordinary sound of a large choir is exhilarating! At BFCS we are committed to providing opportunities for community singing, through our sponsorship of Bradford Friendship Choir (for refugees and asylum seekers), our Learn to Sing courses and our workshop events."
