STARS of the UK comedy circuit are ready to put a smile on the face of Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) in Leeds this March.

An evening of stand-up comedy will take place at Aspire on Friday, March 2, with a charity auction dedicated to CHSF at the interval.

Tickets are £15 each from the See Tickets website or by calling 0113 392 5742.

Comics Danny Posthill, Ivo Graham and host Martin Semple will provide the laughs, with a charity auction dedicated to CHSF at half time.

Food can be purchased at the event between 6.30pm and 7.15pm, cooked by BBC MasterChef finalist Tom Rennolds, with the show beginning at 7:30pm.

Andy McNally, marketing and communications manager at Children’s Heart Surgery Fund said: “This is a unique event in the CHSF calendar and promises to be a great night out at a terrific price - the fundraising auction is of course completely optional.

“We encourage all local comedy fans and charity supporters to come along and enjoy some of the country’s best stand-ups in this terrific venue.”

MC Martin Semple calls on his experiences as a soldier to turn dramatic stories into hilarious material and is a hugely-respected member of the national stand-up comedy scene.

Opening act Ivo Graham started stand-up in 2009 and became the youngest-ever winner of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny award at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Ivo has appeared on shows including Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week, Comedy Central At The Comedy Store, As Yet Untitled, Live From the BBC and Fighting Talk and is developing his own his sitcom projects with the BBC.

The final act Danny Posthill got his big break on Britain’s Got Talent, but has been making people laugh since being talked into doing impressions at his school talent show aged 16.

His stand-up act includes a string of impressions such as Jimmy Carr, Billy Connolly and Lee Evans.

CHSF are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, and support the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit at the Leeds General Infirmary by providing life-saving equipment, resources and research.

Supporters can donate to CHSF at www.chsf.org.uk/donate and by texting CHSF02 £5 to 70070 (or change the number after the £ to 1, 2, 3 or 10).
