AS part of the Ilkley Arts Festival, Cantores Olicanae choir and Skipton Camerata orchestra are performing a selection of music by Haydn, Palestrina, Allegri, Purcell and featuring the ever-popular Requiem Mass by Mozart.
Mozart’s requiem is a choral masterpiece whose genesis is shrouded in mystery – this makes the piece all the more fascinating and emotionally stirring. Conductor for the evening will be Rory Johnston, the Musical Director of Cantores Olicanae.
The concert is on Saturday, November 11 in St Margaret’s Church, Queens Road, Ilkley at 7.30pm. Tickets: £12, Students £5, under 14s free. Tickets are available from The Grove Music Shop, Ilkley, or ring 01943 830873 or purchase on the door prior to the concert.
