OUR Wildman production Di and Viv and Rose opened this week to much acclaim.

Charting the friendships of three very different women following their first meeting at university, this play crackles with energy, clever writing and glorious characterisation. Perfectly presented in the intimate surroundings of the Wildman Studio, this compassionate and funny production is a masterclass in character acting and wise direction – and is packed with eighties nostalgia. Ilkley Playhouse is fast becoming known for its superb comedy events. Whilst our evening with Charlie Chuck is now completely sold out, there are still tickets available for our Stagefright Comedy Night on Saturday, February 18th. Enjoy the edgy pastiche and quick-fire wit of Gavin Webster – voted 2014’s “Comedians’ Comedian” and star of Never Mind The Buzzcocks and The Eleven O’Clock Show - and the warm Irish humour of Kieran Lawless who has recently finished touring with Patrick Kielty. They are joined by Stu Woodings and Maisie Adams and the evening will be hosted by our very popular and funny regular MC Anthony J Brown. Finally, for February, enjoy the harmonies of Peggy-Sue & The Cupcakes on the 25th. A lovely evening of hits from the 40s and 50s plus a few well-loved musical favourites and modern classics. Admission is £17.50 per person and includes a delicious fish supper from Grandad Nicol’s plus a yummy cupcake from Jeanette’s Cakery in Saltaire. A perfectly delightful way to spend a February evening!
