OFF the back of the massive success of ‘The Simon & Garfunkel Story’, Maple Tree Entertainment Ltd are proud to present You’ve Got A Friend, a brand new concert-style show based on the friendship and music of James Taylor and Carole King.

James Taylor and Carole King played their first show together at Hollywood’s famous live music venue, The Toubadour, in 1970. Their most notable collaboration came just a year later when Taylor recorded King’s You’ve Got A Friend, for which he won the 1971 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and achieved his first US number one hit.

Taylor & King’s musical partnership and friendship continues to blossom to this day; recently joining forces again in 2010 for their hugely successful Troubadour Reunion International Tour, which celebrated the 40th anniversary of their first performance together.

This brand new theatre concert experience tells their heart-warming story intertwined with the music that shaped a generation, featuring classic hits such as I Feel The Earth Move, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You), Fire & Rain, You Make Me Feel (Like A Natural Woman), Sweet Baby James, and of course the beautiful You’ve Got A Friend.

The cast includes seasoned West End performer Kyla Brown as Carole King, Bill Lennon as James Taylor, and also features a full cast of talented actor-musicians who help narrate the show.

You’ve Got A Friend The Music of James Taylor and Carole King comes to the King’s Hall, Ilkley on Thursday, March 2 at 7.30pm. Tickets £21.50 are on sale now.
