AN INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed musician will be taking an audience at Otley Courthouse on a trip through film music history next month.

Swing pianist, singer and songwriter Joe Stilgoe is the son of arch satirist Richard Stilgoe and opera singer Annabel Hunt and has performed everywhere from Ronnie Scott's to the Royal Albert Hall.

He has also featured as a soloist with BBC Concert Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and performed for clientele as diverse as Madonna, Sir David Frost and Prince Edward.

Joe enjoys making new arrangements of classic songs, often adapting his flair for Jazz and Swing to different styles.

This has culminated in the project Songs on Film, where he adds his own orchestrations to some of the most memorable moments in cinematic history.

The show sees Joe and his band perform songs written for and inspired by some of the greatest films of the last century, and includes unexpected takes on classics like You Never Can Tell, Afternoon Delight and Footloose.

The Songs on Film tour will reach the Courthouse on Friday, February 3 when the performance starts at 8pm.

Tickets cost £18.50 and can be booked by visiting otleycourthouse.org.uk, calling (01943) 467466 or popping into the venue, on Courthouse Street, Otley.
