JOIN the Orchestra of Opera North for an afternoon celebrating some of the most famous film music written by John Williams at Leeds Town Hall on Sunday,October 16 at 3pm.

The concert will include lots of recognisable themes from classic blockbusters such as Hedwig's Theme and Harry's Wonderous World from Harry Potter, the iconic shark theme from Jaws, the Imperial March and Jedi Steps and Finale from Star Wars and the melodic flying theme from ET. The concert will also include the rousing March from Superman, the reflective Hymn to the Fallen from Saving Private Ryan and main themes from Schindler’s List, Home Alone, Jurassic Park and Close Encounters.

One of the most popular and successful composers of the modern age, John Williams has written scores for over 100 films, including some of the best-known themes in film history. He is the winner of five Academy Awards and has been nominated an astonishing 50 times. His awards also include three Emmy Awards, 22 Grammys, four Golden Globes and seven BAFTAs.

Presented by BBC’s Mark Forrest and conducted by one of the most gifted younger British conductors Stephen Bell, this concert is perfect for film buffs and music lovers of all ages.
