TINA May is coming to Ilkley this summer in a combined promotion from Ilkley Summer Festival and Ilkley Jazz Festival.

Sponsored by Wicked Lady Promotions, Parisienne Night Club - an evening with Tina May, is coming to Ilkley's Winter Gardens on Friday, August 19 from 7.45pm.

The jazz vocalist has recorded and performed with Ellington's 'Sacred Music' with the Stan Tracey Orchestra and been a featured guest on many recordings from jazz and soul to fusion.

"We are very pleased to have persuaded Tina May to come to Ilkley Winters Garden as the jazz headliner," said Anne Hawkesworth, MD of Ilkley Summer Festival and Wicked Lady Promotions.

"Since Tina May arrived on the Jazz scene in 1990s her astonishing vocal ability and stage presence has meant she is recognised as one of the finest vocalists ever produced by Britain. When she steers you through an evening of musical tales filled with wit you quickly recognise her talent."

Anne added: "We are using Winter Garden because the Kings Hall is presently having maintenance work. However, the venue will be ideal for a musical journey to Paris and Le Jazz Hot.

"Tina is a gifted lyricist, consummate Jazz artist and sparkling entertainer."
